About this cigar:
The leaves used in the blend of this brand come from the Hoyo de Monterrey plantation which is located on the fertile banks of San Juan y Martinez river, right in the heart of the Vuelta Abajo region. The Hoyo de Monterrey plantation has a well-known reputation way before its name was first used on a brand of Habanos in 1865. The flavour of Hoyo de Monterrey's blend makes it an attractive choice for those who seek a delicate yet aromatic Habano that is lighter to the taste but with great elegance and complexity.
I sat down on a bench next to river last week-end, pulled out a Petit Robusto and a white beer. I love to cut the cigar and smoke it at cold for a minute, such a smooth creamy smell and taste this one! There was some breeze but I know this cigar can take it because of its strong structure. It burnt evenly and slow despite the wind, and took me a good 30 minutes of smoke. The combination with the white beer is really nice as they are both very gentil to the palate. The Finale gets spicer and stronger which truly gives a perfect last kick before ending it. Spending quality time with myself like that is such a pleasure, and this cigar was ideal for the situation.
